The performance of the Smart Shipper container has been tested both internally as well as by an independent testing company under many different conditions.  Several examples of these tests include the following:

The independent testing company used a climate chamber with exterior temperatures of 80F, 90F, 110F degrees for 4 to 8 hours per day to simulate real temperatures during days and nights.  When the test was started, six pounds of gel packs were placed with the product in the container.  The interior product temperature was 18F degrees.  After five days, the interior product temperature had increased less than 13F degrees.

Internal testing has been performed with both dry ice and frozen gel packs.  Below is a brief summary of some of the recent tests. 

For the dry ice tests, 10 pounds of dry ice was placed in the container for five days.  Graph 1 reflects an exterior temperature of 70F to 75F degrees.  During the test, the interior temperature stayed below –65F degrees.  Graph 2 reflects a fluctuating chamber controlled temperature simulating summer conditions ranging from 75F to 122F degrees.  The interior temperature stayed below -45F degrees.

For the gel packs tests, frozen gel packs were placed in the container along with six-chilled soft drink cans for five to six days.  Graph 3 reflects an exterior temperature of 70F to 75F degrees.  During the test, the interior temperature stayed below 41F degrees.  Graph 4 reflects a fluctuating chamber controlled temperature simulating summer conditions ranging from 85F to 105F degrees.  The interior temperature stayed below 45F degrees.

Graph 5 illustrates a test comparing Smart Shipper to a Styrofoam box and foam-insulated container.  The three containers were placed in the same environmental conditions for a 24-hour period.  The exterior temperature ranged between 80F to 98F.  The internal temperature of the Smart Shipper container remained stable, fluctuating less than 2F degrees versus the other containers whose internal temperature raised 32F to 38F degrees.
